The following list is not meant to be comprehensive, but it presents some of the more common and a few uncommon herbs with toxic potentials.
Never use the following herb for a home remedy
- jimsonweed also called thorn apple or devil’s snare, annual herbaceous plant of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). Possibly native to Central America, the plant is considered an invasive species throughout much of the Northern Hemisphere. Jimsonweed
Makes you wonder if this was in the peace pipes, It was used by Algonquin Indians in eastern North America, among other indigenous peoples of the Americas, as a hallucinogen and intoxicant according to Britannica Encylopedia.
Despite serious safety concerns, people sometimes use jimson weed for asthma, cough, flu (influenza), and many other conditions, but no good scientific evidence supports these uses.
